A Retreat in Maine

This week we’re featuring our Solna Credenza and Barbican Stools, shown here at photographer Sidney Bensimon’s home. We couldn’t think of a more picturesque setting for two of our most popular items.

The Home: Sidney’s home was built in 2019 in Mid-Coast Maine, and was designed to function as a photo studio. The light inside is absolute magic. While views of nature from her living room and deck transport you to a place of quiet relaxation, it also looks like the perfect space to escape distractions and get some work done. The expanse of hills and trees is enough to make any city dweller day dream.

The Furniture: We love the Solna Credenza for the added textural element the caned doors provide. Customers can specify custom dimensions and layouts; you can really customize this piece to fit your needs! When considering a custom piece, we like to start by designating a function and let that dictate the size and layout. Need record and book storage? Increase the width, and add an open shelf between two sets of doors. Looking for liquor and glass storage? Go taller, with the cabinet portion at the top, and add two drawers at the bottom.

Our Barbican Stools have long been a customer favorite. Customers note the nice and heavy base made from steel, the seats that require a bit of weight in order to swivel, and the comfort of the scoop seat, backrest, and footrest. We think they check all the boxes.
